چکیده
Abstract Introduction Low testosterone has been suggested as a contributor to mortality and rejection after solid organ transplant. Whether therapy specifically improves these outcomes is unknown. Objective To determine whether treatment of low with associated improved or transplant using TriNetX, large deidentified, multi-institutional database. Methods We compiled all clinical data from the TriNetX research network, globally federated health network (with waiver Western IRB) that provides de-identified information 58 heath care organizations, over 80 million patients located within United States. selected male (aged ≥ 18) history lung, kidney, liver, heart, pancreas categorized into two groups, based on prescription for therapy. For patients, we collected including demographics, comorbidities, laboratory findings, medication use. Our interest were 1-year, 3-year, all-time mortality, well allograft rejection. evaluated differences in baseline characteristics between level (Normal T, T), chi-square Fisher’s exact test categorical (presented frequencies percentages), independent t-test continuous data. address potential confounders could bias our results, used propensity score weighted regression (inverse probability weighting), matched age, race/ethnicity, comorbid conditions, multiple status, immunosuppressant Multivariable logistic was model outcome rejection, predictors level, therapy, their interaction, while cox mortality. Results A total 1,762 men identified transplants. 262 (14.9 %) met criteria had Baseline similar groups (Table 1). After matching existing patient characteristics, showed The risk reduced at 1 year (HR 0.33), 3 years (HR0.57) time 0.61) among treated No effect seen regards (data not shown). Conclusions Testosterone may improve serum following Further studies are required when what derive most benefit therapies, particularly result does appear be driven by Disclosure

Histoplasmosis after solid organ transplant.
BACKGROUND To improve our understanding of risk factors, management, diagnosis, and outcomes associated with histoplasmosis after solid organ transplant (SOT), we report a large series of histoplasmosis occurring after SOT. METHODS All cases of histoplasmosis in SOT recipients diagnosed between 1 January 2003 and 31 December 2010 at 24 institutions were identified. Demographic, clinical, and ...
متن کاملTolerance in Solid-Organ Transplant.
Immunotolerance, which is nonimmunologic reactivity to specific tissue, was demonstrated in animals in the 1950s. However, despite assiduous efforts, it has not been reproduced in human solid-organ transplant to date. Fortuitously, clinical operational tolerance, which is stable graft function for > 1 year with no immunosuppression, has been demonstrated, primarily in a few nonadherent recipien...

The genus Nocardia includes more than 80 known species, with at least 33 of them related to human pathology [2,3]. It is an opportunistic pathogen, causing infection generally in immunosuppressed, mainly with long exposure to corticosteroids, transplanted or HIV positive patients. It has worldwide distribution and is very ubiquitous, being found in terrestrial and aquatic environments as well a...

Women who receive transplants require contraception counseling because of the teratogenicity of immunosuppressant medications and the risks posed by pregnancy after transplant. Fortunately, pregnancy can succeed with careful planning and monitoring.
متن کاملLymphoma: risk and response after solid organ transplant.
Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD) is a common and serious complication of solid organ transplantation. It is a heterogeneous collection of diagnoses with varied clinical courses and outcomes. The majority of PTLD is Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-driven as a result of loss of immune control of EBV-positive B lymphocytes. Risk factors for the development of PTLD thus reflect loss or ...
